Customisation in the cab: seating solutions for two 16-tonne Linde forklift trucks

EBLO was commissioned to design a complete seating solution for two 16-tonne Linde forklift trucks belonging to Van der Vlist Moerdijk, the Netherlands and to fit it on site. Several drivers experienced discomfort in the existing forklift seats and therefore contacted EBLO.

From showroom to bespoke solution

Van der Vlist Moerdijk (the Netherlands) contacted one of our sales representatives by telephone and was subsequently invited to our showroom. Here, the drivers were able to view and discuss various seat models and options and, above all, test them extensively for themselves.

The original Grammer MS65/721 Linde forklift seat did not provide sufficient seating comfort for the drivers. After testing various options, the choice fell on the Recaro Expert M PVC, combined with a MGV25 mechanical suspension system.

This is not a standard seat combination. The Recaro Expert M has a high backrest that provides extra support for the driver’s back and upper body. Combined with the mechanical suspension system, this creates a comfortable seating solution that better absorbs shocks and vibrations whilst driving.

What makes this configuration unique is that the Recaro Expert M is, by design, an ergonomic car seat. By combining it with the MGV25 mechanical suspension system, EBLO was able to put together a complete seat assembly suitable for use in the two 16-tonne Linde forklift trucks.

This allows us to combine the ergonomic features and support of the Recaro seat with the suspension required for the day-to-day use of a forklift truck. A fine example of how, at EBLO, we look beyond the standard forklift truck seat.

On-site installation

Once the seats had been assembled, one of our technicians installed both seat assemblies on site at Van der Vlist Moerdijk (the Netherlands). This enabled us to carry out the installation directly on the machines and keep the downtime of the forklift trucks to a minimum.
