Truck seat installation in Volvo truck

Over the years EBLO has built up a customer base of several thousand customers. New customers are added every day. That includes logistics and transport company Van Straalen De Vries (VSDV) with several branches throughout the Netherlands. VDSV's fleet consists of approximately 600 vehicles. They transport products in various makes of truck, such as Volvo, DAF and Scania. We recently installed a new truck seat in one of the Volvo trucks.

One of the truck drivers, working in a Volvo FM rigid, was experiencing back problems. The company went in search of ergonomic advice and came to EBLO. After an intake interview with the driver at our location in Zwijndrecht, the conclusion was that the original standard seat in the Volvo truck did not meet the ergonomic expectations. The advice of our ergonomist was that the driver needed a modified truck seat, where the seat can be better adjusted to the body.

Luxury truck seat

The ISRI 6860/875 NTS1 Premium seat was chosen. This luxury ISRI truck seat with built-in climate system is equipped with many conveniences. In particular, the shoulder adjustment and side cheek settings of this seat allow the driver to adopt a better and more supportive sitting position. Regardless of the driver's height or build, these settings allow the seat to be adjusted perfectly to fit the upper body. The seat tilt and seat depth adjustment of the seat area ensure that the seat can be perfectly adjusted to the lower body.

Difference in track size

The ISRI 6860/875 NTS1 Premium truck seat in our range is actually a seat for a DAF truck, because of the track gauge of 30.5 cm to mount the seat. Each truck brand has its own track gauge. The track gauge of a Volvo truck seat is 21.6 cm. Nevertheless, the DAF variant was chosen because this seat has a convenient entry and exit button. With a simple push on a button on the side of the seat, the seat is lowered to make it easy to get into the seat. Of course, getting out of the seat is also easier from a low seat. The same button returns the seat to its original seating height.

Installation on site

A few days later, our technical staff installed the truck seat with the modified track width at VSDV's site in Heerhugowaard. Our mechanic also transferred the automatic transmission (I-Shift) from the old seat to the new seat.

Prevent body aches

The driver is very satisfied with the new seat in the Volvo truck and fortunately no longer suffers from back problems.
