Greater seating comfort and less physical strain for Renewi drivers

Renewi’s operators work with heavy machinery on a daily basis, including Caterpillar shovels, which are used as rubble crushers. During this work, the operators are subjected to a great deal of jolts and vibrations. This led to back problems for two employees. EBLO resolved this by installing two ergonomic, fully adjustable seats.

Sales Manager Hennie Olsthoorn visited the Renewi site to assess the situation. What was the nature of the work, what does the existing seat look like, and what physical complaints are the two employees experiencing?

Replace the current seat for greater comfort

Hennie recommended replacing the current seat with our MSG97/AL/ASS combination, featuring the ASS 600 Industry ERGO Line as the upper section. This seat combination offers considerably more options than the standard seat in terms of ergonomics and seating comfort.

A highly adjustable seat with a focus on ergonomics

For example, this seat combination features, amongst other things, an adjustable backrest and seat for good support of the upper legs, an adjustable lumbar support for good support of the lower back, and a height-adjustable, tilting headrest. The heavy-duty base, which includes horizontal suspension, effectively absorbs shocks and vibrations.

A challenging seat assembly job

Fitting out the new seat configuration was no easy task. All the mounting plates, joystick consoles and existing electrical systems had to be carefully transferred and adapted to suit the new seat configuration.
