KWS replaces Grammer Actimo for ASS in excavator
KWS Infrastructure is a leading player in the Dutch infrastructure sector. They specialise in the construction and maintenance of roads, railways and waterways. The company was looking for a solution to improve seating comfort for the driver of an excavator on a project site in Zeeland, the Netherlands. KWS knocked on EBLO's door, their trusted partner in the field of seating solutions.

Many years of cooperation

This time, the focus of the cooperation was on improving seating comfort in an excavator. Our seating specialist Hennie identified the specific seating requirements, looked at the work and the current excavator seat to get a picture of the current seating problems.

The switch from Grammer Actimo to ASS 803
The excavator came standard with a Grammer Actimo seat, which is already extensively adjustable. Nevertheless, the operator indicated that the seat did not provide sufficient seating comfort and support. EBLO recommended the installation of an ASS 803 static non-suspended seat, a model that is fully adjustable and provides optimal body support.
The ASS 803 features include:
Infinitely adjustable side cheeks and shoulder support
A pneumatically adjustable lumbar support
Backrest adjustment.

As the suspension system of the Grammer Actimo was still functioning well, the decision was made to keep it. The ASS 803 superstructure was placed on the existing suspension system, which also kept the joystick pods intact. Thus, an optimal solution was achieved without unnecessary modifications.

Minimum downtime, maximum efficiency
To keep downtime of the excavator to a minimum, EBLO's technical service travelled to the site in Zeeland, in the Netherlands, to install the seat.

A satisfied driver
After the seat modification, the driver was very satisfied. The new ASS seat not only offers more seating comfort, but also supports the body better. This increases job satisfaction and helps prevent sitting complaints, contributing to more efficient working.
