Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) does not need any introduction within the on- & offshore and fishing industry. The company focuses on the repair and conversion of ships and is known worldwide. For EBLO also a familiar relation. 10 years ago EBLO was already privileged to deliver seats for this company and now the seats needed to be replaced.

It started with a phone call from Damen Shiprepair & Conversion: can EBLO deliver new seats. The current six seats had to be replaced and they were so pleased with them that they wanted to order the same ones again. Our Key Account Manager Marcel Kool indicated that this was no problem at all, but that it would also be good to see if the existing seats could still be repaired. The current seats were already at an advanced age (10 years) but could in theory still last a few years.

Marcel Kool went to Schiedam, the Netherlands to inspect the state of the seats. After an inventory it appeared that the seats could have lasted longer if the necessary maintenance had been done on time. When does a seat need maintenance? This is a convenient digital management tool that quickly provides insight into the condition of seats and the required maintenance. For Damen Shiprepair & Conversion certainly something to think about for the future!

For now, the same seats but then new ones: “The current configuration of the seats has suited us well for the past 10 years. The seat fits well in our narrow cabins, the seat height is adjustable and it is easy to turn the seat.” Thus a satisfied Damen Shiprepair & Conversion.

As a result EBLO has reintroduced the CRANESEAT ISRI RO225 517; an ISRI 1000/517 combined with a rotolift. A rotolift is a component that provides height adjustment in combination with a 'rotating' function. Due to the limited space, this function is especially desirable when entering and exiting the crane cabin, so that one can easily turn towards the cabin door. The seat is comfortable due to the addition of foam in the seat and back cushion of the seat, making the seat extra firm. Thanks to the lumbar support, the lower back is well supported.

The seats were mounted in the cranes on site by EBLO. Thanks to EBLO's prompt service, work at Damen Shiprepair & Conversion didn't have to stop for long. " We are also definitely taking EBLO's Fleet Maintenance App® into consideration. Good seats that last as long as possible, that's what everyone wants, right?
