EBLO implements energy transition and becomes virtually energy neutral
In the video above, Hennie Olsthoorn of EBLO Seating and Andor van Dijk, sustainability consultant, talk about the switch from gray power to a virtually energy-neutral operation thanks to recent energy transition.
Energy-saving measures
EBLO was approached in 2018 by the Zwijndrecht Municipality with the request to investigate ways in which EBLO could save energy. This includes energy saving measures for the consumption of electricity and gas. We had an energy scan performed, which resulted in a proposal which we put into action. We now have more than a third of our roof covered with 720 solar panels. In addition to the purchase of solar panels, we have also had over 500 fluorescent tubes replaced with energy-saving LED lighting.
Solar panels on someone else's roof
Because our roof still has plenty of room, we are offering all other entrepreneurs in our area the opportunity to use the rest of our roof to install solar panels and generate their own green electricity. In this way we can make an important contribution to a future energy-neutral business park.
