EBLO wins public tender for RET

We are proud to add the Rotterdam public transport company RET to our customer base. In early 2016, there was a public tender for the supply and installation of driver's seats for in the type Citadis 1 streetcars of the Rotterdam public transport company. Thanks in part to our years of expertise, the contract was ultimately awarded to EBLO.

In total there were five companies that had registered for the RET tender. We signed up with ISRI. With an extensive set of requirements, the seat had to meet important conditions. The comfort of the seat, but also the safety played a major role. We chose the comfortable air-suspension seat ISRI 6860/885. This seat meets the important new standard EN 45545 for fire protection for rail vehicles.

Three companies were selected to install two seats each, which would serve as a test seat for the drivers for a number of months. During the test period these streetcar drivers were asked to fill out a survey. In the end it turned out that almost unanimously our ISRI seat was chosen. This seat was totally different from what had been customary up until now. It had full air suspension and various automatic settings.

Because of all the positive reactions and the conditions we can meet such as service, warranty and value for money RET decided to award the tender to EBLO. We are very proud of this.

It is a multi-year contract. The planning is that we will deliver and install the first 63 seats in the first quarter of 2017.
